@Imola: well, I find the so-called "natural makeup" much worse because it is even more of a plaster than just dramatic eyeshadow and eyeliner and what have you. I'm also against it for personal beliefs. I mean, I prefer people to have fun with flashy, colorful makeup rather than use it to conform to photoshopped standards of beauty and erase their self-conceived flaws...which aren't flaws at all, just so they appear they aren't wearing any. So yeah, flashy makeup for the go!

@JigokuNeko: I prefer that so-called "natural make-up" purely because of taste. :) Of course people should use whatever they want with make-up, whichever style they feel good with.

My own skin is far too sensitive for any fun to be had, even if I want to conceal some reddish thing with the smallest amount of concealer, it either ends up with a little bit of inflammation and pus or dried up pieces of skin. Thus... no real experience here.

I'm sorry if I wrote something distateful above, it really was just a comment reflecting my own taste rather than a judgement of any kind.

@Imola: nah, I'm mostly ranting against the social expectation for the "no makeup - natural look" makeup which is total social pressure bullshit. I don't mean just using a bit of mascara and lipstick and calling it a day. I mean, the illusion of wearing no makeup whilst actually having a ton of products on. Applying that is just as time consuming as having a Kardashian face. At the very least it is paradoxical and at heart it is especially sexist to demand of women to a) show a perfect android face without b) looking like they spent half an hour of effort on looking "naturally" perfect.

@JigokuNeko: Oh, there are loads and loads of comments that say "I take the girl home and next morning I wake up next to a monster". Crinnnngggeee.

By "natural make-up I meant using a tiny bit of mascara and lipstick and calling it a day.
Obviously there are some trends that just slipped by (just like Ilona, my friends called me a Martian :D), but at least the message "be a born beauty or be worthless" gets through. :B
